The Faculty of Al Alsun and Mass Communication organized a one-day seminar on “Mental Health” on Nov. 25; a fourth in a series of seminars on the history and culture of Egypt. The seminar depicted three different perspectives on the way mental health issues have been dealt with throughout the Egyptian history.

The first presentation was given by Dr. Yasser Abdel-Maboud entitled “The History of the Tulunid Bimaristan in Islamic Egypt”, followed by a second session by Dr. Sabry El-Adl titled “The Development of Mental Health Hospitals in Egypt in the 19th century”. Finally, a third presentation was given by Dr. Nashaat Hussein to discuss the current problems associated with Facebook addiction in modern times and titled: “Facebook Usage and Mental Health”. The seminar was attended by the Faculty staff members and students.
