The Faculty of Al-Alsun and Mass Communication organized its 1st Interdisciplinary Research Forum on December 3, 2018. The purpose of the Forum is to promote the discussion and exchange of views among Faculty members and to encourage interdisciplinary research collaboration.
The Forum kicked off with the topic, “Gender Across the Disciplines” which discussed gender intersections with other disciplines. The speakers included Dr. Nagwa El Gazzar on “Gender Role Portrayals in Advertising: A Content Analysis,” Dr. Hoda Awad on “Gender and Power,” and Ms. Rana Elbowety on “Literature and Gender Studies: Intersecting Disciplines.” The presentations were followed by a lively discussion.
