Intended learning outcomes of course (ILOs)

Knowledge and understanding

By the end of this course, the student should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and clear understanding of the following:
a1. Know the set operations and the basic properties of the integers
a2. Understand the concept of propositions, logical operations, conditional statements
a3. Understand the concept of mathematical induction, and the counting techniques
a4. Understand the concept of recurrence relations, relations, and basic concept of graph theory.
a5. Know the vector spaces, linearly independent sets.
a6. Understand the solutions of linear systems of equations and the matrix invers
a7. Understand the Eigen values and Eigen vectors and diagonalization.

Intellectual skills

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
b1. Demonstrate knowledge of theory and operations on sets.
b2.Produce proofs of mathematical statements using mathematical induction and analyze the techniques of mathematical structures and their applications .
b3. Demonstrate knowledge of systems of equations, vector spaces, determinants,
b4. Demonstrate knowledge of Eigenvalues, linear transformation and their applications

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
c1. Develop a professional attitude and approach to obtain the recursive and explicit formulas of a given sequence of values and also to determine the characteristic functions of sets.
c2. Develop a repository of experience to list the properties of integers using Euclidean algorithm.
c3. Develop skills for vector spaces, determinants, Eigenvalues.
c4. Develop skills for studying the consistency of a linear system of equations.
